  1. Chin up BennyBen!

Start with a definition of sanctity of life....the belief that all life is sacred, holy and belongs to God.

Then think of quotes or teachings that support this.

One example is '"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body," (1 Cor. 6:19-20).

Can you think of three more? Write them up (or as many as you can) and I will work through the paragraphs with you all.

  2. The sanctity of life covers a lot of things. First of all, it is the belief that life is precious. You can use the quotation 'aren't five sparrows worth 2 pennies, yet none of them are forgotten by God. The number of hair on your head are numbered.' This biblical teaching suggests that everyones' life is very important. All of them are acknowledged by God.

Second of all it is also the belief that life should not be destroyed. This idea is conveyed simply through the testament 'thou shall not kill.'

'God created men in his own image, men and women he created.' Since God created human especially in his own image, it shows how sacred life is. It is a gift and we must cherish this.

Another belief is that God planned our life. This can be shown in the quotation, 'before I formed you in the womb I knew you.' This quotation shows how God has designed a meaning and purpose for each individual person. We should not throw away our life as it might disrupts God's plan.

  5. Paul says: This quotation shows how important our life is and emphasizes how we should cherish the life given to us by god.

  6. Paul says: can u also talk about the final judgement at the end of the world? because Christians believe that we should live a fulfilled life and cherish it thereore the sanctity of life plays an important role in this.

  7. The Sanctity of Life is important to Christians because life is a gift from God, therefore is to be revered.

Carrying on from Tim/Paul's points ...

Job 1:21 teaches "The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away". This shows that only God has the power and the right to end life, because He created and gave us life. This is important to Christians since it goes against modern ideas of abortion and euthanasia. The Sanctity of Life tells Christians not to do these as it goes against the will of God - especially since He has the perfect plan for every human being (Jeremiah 29:11).

The Didache (an early Christian document) also says "you shall not kill by abortion the fruit of the womb". Every life belongs to God; it is sacred and holy, therefore Christians should not have an abortion.

There are actually a lot of points for this question.
    - Jeremiah 1:5
    - Leviticus 24:17
    - Psalm 139:13
    - 1 Samuel 2:6

    Amongst others, of course. :)
