Different views between Christian denominations

umm this is not a question, just like a question??

can someone post the differences between views on euthanasia, abortion..etc. and stuff :D

  1. I think it was Roman Catholics who as a denomination totally oppose euthanasia and abortion, because they go against Natural Law (the idea that the universe is ordered by God)

Catholics also oppose abortion, because they believe that life begins at conception, so it would be murder to take the life of a foetus. There is their Declaration of Procured Abortion (1974)which says something to that effect..

I think other Christians do not always agree with euthanasia and abortion, but accept them as the lesser of two evils in some cases.

There are some more points... I'll let somebody else put them up :)

  2. Christians are against euthanasia and abortion because they believe that life is a gift from God. By killing yourself or terminating a baby it is depreciating God's gift. For euthanasia you can elaborate more on how life is loaned not given. Therefore it is not in our right to decide whether we should terminate our life or not.

Christians are also against euthanasia and abortion because they believe that life is planned by God. By terminating your own life, it is disrupting God's plan. This is supported by the biblical teaching 'Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.'

For euthanasia you can say that in the genesis it stated 'God created men in his own image men and women he created.' This suggests how precious life is as God took the initiative to create us humans especially under his own image. By taking away your own life is to some extent rejecting God.

We can see life is precious also through the quotation, 'aren't five sparrows worth 2 pennies, yet none of them is forgotten God, the very hairs on your head is numbered.' This biblical teaching shows that all life is acknowledged by God therefore we should not destroy it.

For abortion, you can say that the bible teaches that 'If anyone is to destroy God's temple then God will destroy him. You are God's temple.' This quotation shows that life should not be destroyed. Since Christians believe that life begins at conception, then the fetus is God's temple.

  4. For this question could you also talk about how God has the perfect plan for all human beings? So by aborting a baby is going against gods perfect plan for all humans.

  5. Roman Catholics believe that life is a gift from God and we don't have the right to decide when it ends, or prevent it from happening. This means that they oppose abortion, euthanasia, suicide and contraception.

  6. Good work kids. Try to make a table with the arguments for and against on it. Make sure you have four of each as some questions may ask you to explain reasons why Christians are against euthanasia or abortion.
