  1. The Parable of the Good Samaritan helps to promote racial harmony amongst Christians who follow the teachings of the Bible. This Parable was Jesus' response to the question 'Who is my neighbour?', in which he convinces his listeners of the importance of treating every person they meet, regardless of origin or race, with agape love. This parable contributes to racial harmony because it shows clearly the Christian ideal, which many Christians try to follow in their lives. As they follow these teachings of Jesus, they would be inclined to promote racial harmony through their actions (which should be free of racial discrimination) as this is what Jesus encouraged them to do.

  2. St Peter's vision in which he was shown a sheet filled with animals of all different kinds (Acts 10), and where he was told that "what the Lord makes clean you have no right to call profane" helps to promote racial harmony by stressing that all races are equal, and that any divisions or inequalities in status between them are only of human invention; all are equal in God's eyes, and all are sacred, being created in God's image. There should therefore not be a superior race and racial equality should be the attitude of everyone.

  3. Jesus' actions also helps promote racial harmony. In John it states that Jesus treated a samaritan women as his equal, in Luke, Jesus healed a centurion's servant, a black women also carried Jesus' cross. By interacting with other races and treating them as his equal, Jesus showed to everyone that we should treat each other the same regardless of our race. It suggests that when Jesus said 'love your neighbour as you love yourself,' 'neigbour' refers to everyone.

  4. Tim ... A Black African MAN carried Jesus' cross, not a woman. His name is Simon of Cyrene.
The Biblical passage describing this can be found in Luke 23:26.

Another Biblical teaching is Galatians 3:28. St. Paul teaches that "there is neither Jew nor Greek ... for you are all one in Christ Jesus". This shows that Jesus treats every human being equally, therefore Christians should follow His word by treating others equally as well, which promotes racial harmony.

Additionally, the Catechism of the Catholic Church also teaches "all nations form but one community" (Paragraph #842), describing how everyone was formed from one man (Adam) when God first created the world. Therefore, Christians (Catholics) believe they should treate everyone equally since they were all formed from one man, and thus this promotes racial harmony.

  5. I Genesis it states 'and God said, let us make man in our image'. This shows that God made all humans in his image and not just people of a certain race. Therefore they are all equal as each is made in the image of God.
