Explain how the presence of many religions in society may cause problems for Christians

  1. well, they might be influenced by other religions, and they might question the plausability of their own religion.

eg, wow, the way hinduism describes gods existence is very plausible and realistic, is god really in everything??? do humans really reincarnate everytime until they join back with God???? is it ok to worship idols...etc.

umm some christians (exlusivisim) might also think that their ideas of religion is wrong and might try to convert them, examples(crusade.....), violence??? conversion might cause conflicts withen society

  2. In brief (hopefully):

Conversion. Some Christians believe that they are taught be Jesus to "make disciples of all nations", that is, convert everyone (nopt bothered to post other reasons because that's probably covered somewhere else). However, a multi faith society requires that we have both pluralism and religious freedom. Conversion can be seen as discrimination or prejudice. Whcih leads to a moral dilemna for Christians.

Marriage. If a couple get married and are of different religions, then they may not be able to have a marriage ceremony. Which religion will their children be brought up in? Where will they be buried when they die?

Bringing up children. Christian parents have the duty of bringing up thier children in Christianity(expand by supporting with Bible quotes). However, a multi faith society must have freedom of religion and pluralism. Children must be taught about what each religion entails so they can make up thier minds. This means that parents may try to stop their children learning about religion so that they don't choose a relgiion outside Christianity, which can lead to conflict.

  4. For an extra mark you can also mention how in a multi faith society it can cause religious conflict on certain matters. For example some Hinduism believe in reincarnation whilst Christian believe in resurrection and or the immortality of the soul. The opposing ideas can make it confusing for Christians, especially children.
