Does anyone have any bible quotes supporting religious pluralism, inclusivism and exclusivism???

For the question: explain why there are different attitudes to other religions in Christianity

  1. For Exclusivism:

Jesus said 'No one comes to the Father except through me' which many people interpret to mean that Christianity is the only true religion. Also, Jesus told his followers to 'make disciples of all nations' - to convert people because Christianity is correct.

  2. I'm not sure if there are any quotes from the Bible supporting inclusivism, but it is the teaching of some churches such as the Catholic church.

The Bible teaches that Christianity is the one true religion, but other (similar) religions can reach God as well. For example, Judaism - the Torah is essentially the first five books of the Bible, so does teach some truth.

  3. Exclusivism
Emily's quote - coming from John 14:6 and Matthew 28:18-20 respectively.

"Love your neighbour as yourself" - the second greatest Commandment Jesus taught in the gospel of Matthew. (If you love your neighbour, you would want them to be a Christian so they could go to Heaven too)

One more: this is not from the Bible, but from the Qur'an (Holy Scriptures of Islam)
"We have prepared for unbelievers a humiliating punishment" - Surah 4:151
NOTE: This quote will probably work ONLY in a (d) question.

    Inclusivism
Catechism of the Catholic Church Paragraph #842
"All nations form but one community

    Religious Pluralism
"In my Father's house are many rooms" - John 14:2

These are quotes from the Bible which will definitely get you marks.

  4. Not sure if this will work ...

The “Vatican II Council” of the 1960s "explicitly declared that people of other religions could be saved".

(This can work, stating that Roman Catholics are (mainly) Inclusivists)
